From festivities for the whole family to fabulous light displays, here are six must-attend Christmas things to do in Surrey this season.
Surrey Holiday Lights
For an indoor/outdoor option, head to Surrey Holiday Lights to enjoy the celebration. Not only are there thousands of lights, but the attraction also includes one of the most fun Christmas shows Surrey has to offer. Enjoy the Christmas Musical and live entertainment during the event, and plan to grab dinner from one of the many food trucks, take photos with Santa, and get a drink from the Polar Bar. There’s also a holiday market so you can get a bit of shopping done.
Surrey Tree Lighting Festival
Plan on heading to the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival on Saturday, November 20th. It’s one of the best Christmas things to do in Surrey for those who want to have a fabulous start to their season. The event runs from 12 pm-10 pm and features a holiday market, photos with Santa, an immersive light experience, giveaways, live music, and an enchanted village.
Stories, Songs, and Santa Causes
This is one of the Christmas events in Surrey BC, that gives back to the community. Tom Jackson performs original music, traditional carols, and sing-along tunes. Musician Tom McKippip will also be at Stories, Songs, and Santa Causes to entertain audiences. The best part is that this event raises funds and awareness for the Surrey Food Bank. So bless others this holiday season by attending this musical event.
If you’re looking for outdoor Christmas events in Surrey BC, head to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds for an outdoor walk-through light display. The 1 km route is stroller and wheelchair-friendly and highlights the joy and festiveness of Christmas through thousands of holiday bulbs. In addition, the course features interactive exhibits, animations, and photo opportunities. Lumagica also includes a holiday market, live entertainment, and food and drinks available for purchase.
Sing We Now of Christmas
Those that enjoy holiday music should make plans to attend Sing We Now of Christmas by the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir. This performance has become a holiday tradition for the past 30 years, and the men will be singing Celtic, traditional, and modern songs. So feel free to hum along as the choir spreads Christmas cheer. This show is a one-evening event on December 7th, and patrons need to show proof of vaccination to attend.
Why walk through a winter wonderland when you can drive through? Glow Christmas (in nearby Langley) features the theme of “A Fairytale Christmas” and brings winter dreams to life. It takes about 20 minutes to drive through the display, which also includes mini donuts and popcorn to enjoy as you pass the stunning lights. Be sure to purchase your tickets online beforehand, and you can also buy a poinsettia (or two!) to enjoy at home during the holiday season.
