Surrey Tree Lighting Festival
The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival is a holiday event that has been held in the City of Surrey, British Columbia every year for the past 10 years. Each year, the local government invites residents and visitors to join together as they light up their 60ft Christmas tree. The event kicks off the holiday season by allowing guests to experience immersive light displays, delectable foods, and hear live music at Surrey Civic Plaza.
But it’s not just about the tree lighting ceremony! Attendees can experience a tunnel lined with tons of festive lights, giant Christmas ornaments and gifts, interactive swings, and the “Lights Around The World” display. There are also over 20 vendors selling food, crafts, and other gift items throughout the venue, making this one of the best holiday markets in the area, too.
The festival also happens to be one of the area’s best New Year’s Eve events. Surrey Tree Lighting Festival wraps up with a huge celebration that runs from December 31st, right the way through to January 2, so you can immerse yourself in this winter wonderland while you ring in the new year.
